Hershey Park

We took the kids to Hershey Park this evening for the first time this year. The older they get, the more fun they are! It was a perfect family evening! Riding the motorcycles is always a favorite.
Bryce and Landon really enjoyed being together on the front of the cho cho train.

Fun in the Sun

I took the kids to my sister Lynne's house today. We enjoyed swimming in her pool for the first time.

Landon has a great life! He enjoyed an afternoon of sitting in the raft floating around the pool. Bryce pretended to "go fishing" in the pool, using the noodles as his fishing rod.

Hunter and Landon were buddies!
After we finished swimming, the kids rode their bikes in the driveway. Landon said that was his favorite part of the day.

Spring Concert

Bryce and Landon had their spring concert tonight. It was Landon's first time singing on a stage in front of an audience and he did great! We had no idea what to expect, especially considering Bryce left the stage crying during his first few events as a two year-old in preschool. Landon sang with his friends, danced and laughed on stage. Bryce had a great time too. He had been practicing singing his songs all week and he couldn't wait for the program tonight.

Water Fun

We had a couple of hot days last week so we put the sprinkler in the backyard for the boys to run in the water. They had fun playing in the water for the first time this year.

Mother's Day Cupcakes

I went to Stillmeadow this week to visit Landon's class for a special Mother's Day celebration - Mother's Day Cupcakes. I had a great time enjoying cupcakes and spending time with Landon and his friends. This is a picture of Landon with his teacher, Ms. Tricia.

Visit With Aunt Ann and Uncle Joe

My Aunt Ann and Uncle Joe, who live in Florida, spent a few days visiting York last week. We had the opportunity to the see them on Sunday when we went to my parents house. Bryce had a great time playing a Cars movie racing game with Aunt Ann on Wii. Aunt Ann was a trooper and also played Wii Fit with the kids!

Morning Time

This is what a typical weekday morning looks like in our house. Landon gets up first in a happy and playful mood. Bryce.....not so happy! He wishes he could still be in his bed sleeping! Bryce doesn't want to be touched in the morning and he certainly doesn't want to be engaged in conversation. Landon is aware of this and seizes the moment as a perfect time to agitate Bryce.
Bryce tries to get away from Landon, but Landon won't give up.
This is what the situation looks like right before we have to separate them. By 7:15 a.m., John and I are exhausted!

SteveSongs

In September, I began planning an event for work called the Baby and Kids Expo (www.mhyork.org/event_expo_09.asp). We typically have a band perform at the event so the search for a children's band was on. Bryce and Landon helped me evauluate the bands by watching the performances then giving me feedback. We booked the band SteveSongs (http://www.stevesongs.com/) - a group featured on PBS television during the morning cartoons. Bryce and Landon have been watching the group's DVD and listening to his CD for many months now. Our whole family has fallen in love with him and his music! The boys were so excited to meet Steve, the lead singer of SteveSongs. Steve even annoucned Bryce's name during the performance and sang Bryce's favorite song. What a big moment for Bryce!
This is a picture of Bryce playing the air guitar during Steve's performance. Two of Bryce's friends from school also attended the event and they had fun watching the concert together.

Mother's Day Picnic

Bryce's class hosted a Mother's Day picnic today. The kids sang a few songs and then each mother and her child introduced themselves and shared an activity they like to do together. Bryce said he likes to play board games and put puzzles together with me.

All of the kids had a picnic lunch with their mom. After the picnic, Bryce and Grant spent the afternoon at their friend Ben's house. That was the perfect ending to a great day for Bryce!

Visit from Meemaw and Papaw

John's mother and step-father were in Pennsylvania this past weekend visiting Ann's father and they stopped by for a visit on Sunday. The boys had a great time playing with their Memaw and Papaw David! Since we were unable to celebrate Memaw and Papaw's birthdays in March and April, we decided to have a mini birthday party for them while they were visiting. Bryce and Landon enjoyed singing Happy Birthday and then blew out the candles for them. The boys love any reason for a celebration! Meemaw and Papaw were going to watch Bryce play tball on Sunday but the game was rained out. Bryce and Landon entertained their grandparents inside instead. Bryce enjoyed snuggling with his Papaw David as they read one of his favorite books.
