Trick Or Treat

Happy Halloween!  Bryce dressed up as Captain America and Landon recycled a Star Wars costume from last year.  (Landon refused to wear the costume we purchased for this year!!)

This is one happy Captain America.

Landon ended his trick-or-treating early so he could come home and hand out candy.  He enjoyed that much more than walking around the neighborhood!

Molly and Wally joined us for dinner tonight and stayed to enjoy the trick-or-treating festivities.

Playing Darts

Bryce and Landon visited our neighbor Rick this afternoon and they played a game of darts in his garage.

Landon LOVED playing darts and I think he would have stayed for hours if we let him!

Fall Festival

Bryce's school hosted its annual fall festival event today.  He had a great time during the party, which was planned by the parents!  He played several games and made a craft.

One of the activities was a bean bag toss, which was created by Wally.  Molly even helped by making the bean bags!  The kids loved playing it and I'm sure the game will be played for many more years.

Happy 8th Birthday Bryce

Happy Birthday Bryce!  The past eight years with our sweet Bryce have gone by so quickly!

Bryce celebrated his birthday with a Friday night slumber party at our house with his closest friends from school.  The boys (and Landon) spent most of the evening in an intense Nerf battle that spanned the entire house.  John and I were dodging bullets all night long.

Time for bed!  By 8:30 p.m., all of the boys had their pajamas on and they settled in the living room with their sleeping bags.  John was the brave one who chaperoned the overnight shift in the living room.
All of the boys were sound asleep by 10 p.m.  Grayson joined the party too!  He found the coziest sleeping bag and stayed there all long long!

Homework With Wally

I had class this evening and John had a work commitment so Wally came over to watch Bryce and Landon.  Wally was a great helper and he sat next to Bryce to assist him with his homework.  After they finished homework, Wally, Landon, and Bryce played together until John got home.

Vacation Day

The boys had a day off from school today in recognition of Columbus Day.  We had a fun day together along with Bryce's friend Colin.   Bryce and Landon were fighting all morning so I packed up the boys and we spent the afternoon out.  They enjoyed lunch at one of their favorite pizza places.

After lunch we spent a few hours at the park enjoying the perfect weather.

We ran into several of the boys' friends at the park.  Landon stopped playing with them just long enough for me to snap a picture.

Silly Kids

Look at these silly kids!  Bryce and Landon played "cops and robbers" with a few neighborhood kids.  It was neat to see their creative minds at work!

Visit with Meemaw

John's mother and step-father traveled to Pennsylvania this weekend to visit.  The boys had a terrific time with their grandparents and were sad to see them leave.

Clean Up at the Park

Bryce's cub scout group went to a local park this afternoon to clean up litter.  It was a perfect day to help make the environment cleaner!

The Cub Scouts (and Landon) took a break from cleaning up to pose for a picture.

Second Grade Skating Party

Bryce's school hosted a skating party tonight for the second and third graders.  Bryce told me he only wanted to stay for an hour but he had so much fun that we stayed until the end of the party.  In this picture Bryce is showing off his dancing skills on the skating rink!  He is definitely his daddy's son.

Bryce posed for a picture with a group of his friends.

Fall Field Trip

Landon's class went on a field trip today to a local orchard.  He had a terrific time!  He went on a hayride, picked an apple, fed the pigs, and learned about bees.

Landon loved gathering the corn at the orchard.  As he was collecting the corn, I noticed that he put a few pieces in his coat pocket.  When he got in the car after the tour, he put the corn in an empty water bottle and made his own maracas.

Landon and I stayed at the orchard after the tour ended so he could play in the corn box.  I think he would have been content playing in there for hours!
