My First Soccer Practice

We have officially entered the world of team sports with our children! Today was Bryce's first day of soccer practice. He was very excited about being there because his friend Grant was there with him.

The kids practiced kicking the balls through the cones.

Stretching during warmup.

This was a familiar sight during soccer practice....Landon sneaking into the practice session! He desperately wanted to play soccer with the bigger kids! John and I eventually realized that we needed to take turns going into the hallway with Landon.

Another Snow Storm

Friday was a snow day here. We took the kids out in the evening to play; however, we only stayed out for about 10 minutes. It started to rain and we were all bitter cold! Landon loved pushing a broom around in the snow.

Monster Jam

John, Bryce, Mark, Lexi and Andrew went to see a "Monster Jam" truck show in Pittsburgh on Saturday. They sat in box seats and enjoyed all the food they could eat! Bryce especially enjoyed eating the endless bowl of fresh popped popcorn.

Bryce loves playing with toy monster trucks so it was a big thrill for him to see a live show.

Bryce enjoyed watching the motorcycles also.

Visiting Friends

We visited our friends Mark and Allison this weekend at their new home in Greensburg, Pennsylvania. Bryce had a great time playing with Andrew and Lexi. He didn't want to leave!

Pop Pop

"Pop pop" is a frequently used word in our house lately. In fact, I would say it was said at least 50 times today. Pop pop really means lollipop, but lollipop is too hard for a 17 month-old boy to say. Landon would eat a lollipop several times a day if we allowed it. Throughout the day, he goes over to the cabinet where the lollipops are stored and he points, repeadetly saying, "pop pop, pop pop." Here is how a conversation went between Landon and I today: "Mama." "Yes, Landon." "Pop pop?" "No, Landon. You have already had two lollipops today. No more." "Ahhhhh. " (Landon gazes lovingly into my eyes and continues with...) "Mama." "Yes, Landon." "Pop Pop?" This conversation conintued through one or two more rounds until Landon realized he wasn't getting a lollipop. Then he threw his body on the floor, kicked his hands and legs and cried! I can only imagine what the tantrums will be like at age two when they are this intense already!

Would You Like A Drink?

Landon was fascinated by this statue of a little girl. He went up to her, said "Hi!" and then offered her a drink. He even gave her a big hug and kiss!

Library Day

I took the kids to one of their favorite places this morning, the library. They had a great time gathering a lot of books to read.

We sat down at the table to read books because it was the only way I could prevent Landon from running around while squealing in delight! He couldn't figure out how to get out of the chair - that was the only reason he stayed there!

This is one of the many books Landon selected from the shelves.

The boys always love to look at the fish when we visit the library.

Bryce has always loved this little house at the library. It is part of our library routine to sit in it and read a few books.

I Love My Army Pajamas!

Bryce has been really into wearing camoflauge lately. He absolutely loves his new camoflauge pajamas and he calls himself "army guy" when he wears them.

This is a picture of Bryce pretending to be an "army guy rock star."

A Visit With Grandparents

We visited John's grandparents yesterday. The boys had a wonderful time and soaked up all of the attention given to them by their great grandparents!

Landon and great grandpa.

Bryce enjoyed listening to a book read to him by great grandma.

The boys LOVED their grandfather's John Deere tractor wagon! Bryce remembered the wagon from previous visits and couldn't wait to sit on it again.

Landon didn't want to get out!

An Evening Of Play

The boys enjoyed staying at home this evening to play. Bryce built a "Hess Gas Station" with his cars and trucks.

Landon wanted to be in the middle of the action at the Gas Station!

Landon had fun emptying the dishes out of the dishwasher then playing with them. It takes a VERY long time to load the dishwasher when Landon is helping.....we load it and he unloads it!

Haircut Day

It was haircut day for the boys today! Today was Landon's first professional haircut. He did well and surprisingly sat still while his hair was being cut. By the way, Bryce took this picture! I wanted to document this moment for Landon, but I had to hold him. So, I asked Bryce to take a few pictures!

Look At My Teeth

Landon has gotten several new teeth lately and many more are ready to break through his gums. If you look closely at his front right tooth, you will see a chip in the corner. Landon fell while playing at the train table last week and chipped a tooth. It matches Bryce's chipped front tooth!

Outside Playtime

Bryce played outside this afternoon while John did yard work. He had a great time hanging out with Dad and riding one of his bikes around the yard.

All Dressed Up

It was a beautiful morning today so we tried to take a few photos outside with the boys before we went to church. It didn't work out very well...the sun was too bright!

Landon would not stop moving long enough for us to take a picture. He is too busy!

Playing With Hunter and Wyatt

Cousins Hunter and Wyatt came over to our house last night to play. The boys had a great time playing and running around the house together. A tender moment between Bryce and Wyatt.

Bubbles!

Landon's favorite new activity is blowing bubbles. He is content blowing the bubbles himself or sitting on someone's lap as they blow the bubbles. When he sees a bubble, he says, "babowl."

Well Check Appointment

Today Landon had his 15 month well check visit (a month and a half late...oops!). He weighs 22 pounds, 10.6 ounces and is 31 1/2 inches long.

Landon was very busy during his appointment. He looks calm and peaceful during this photo, however, a few seconds later, he tried to jump off the table! When we were asked if we had any concerns about his health and development, we said, "Our main concern is keeping him from killing himself."

Landon received two shots at the appointment and, needless to say, he left the office as an unhappy little boy!

Make Your Own Pizza

Bryce and Landon had fun making their own pizza for lunch today. Today was Landon's first time eating pizza with cheese because we just discovered soy mozzarella cheese.

Landon enjoyed sampling the ingredients as much as he enjoyed making the pizza! He is eating the sauce in this picture.

In this picture, Landon is trying his cheese before he puts it on his pizza.

Pajama Day

Bryce was really excited when he woke up today and found out that we had no plans! He wanted to stay at home all day and play in his pajamas.

Another Hockey Game

We went to another Hershey Bears Hockey game this evening. Bryce had a great time because his cousins were there as well as our friends the Smeltzers. Bryce loved sitting next to Grant during the game.

When we first arrived at the game, Bryce and Grant went to the top row and watched the players warm up on the ice.

Landon, of course, got a lot of attention from Aunt Lisa and Emily.

We met Wes, Trina, Grant and Kenzie at Red Robin for dinner before we went to see the Bears play.

Silly Boys

The boys were being really silly this afternoon. It all started with Landon trying to wear my shoes. Bryce needed to get into the action so he found John's shoes and walked around the house with them on.
