Ice Cream Fresh From The Farm

While we were at the park, Bryce said he wanted to get ice cream. One of the other parents heard him say that and told us about a great place called Lapp Family Farm in Lancaster. They make their own ice cream and you can visit the farm while you eat. This place was a great discovery and we will definatly go back in the future.

Landon is still allergic to dairy products and can't eat ice cream. We tried to appease him by giving him a cone. He looked in his cone and with a confused look on his face he said, "Bite! Cream!" He is finally realizing that everyone else is eating ice cream and he isn't! The next time we take Bryce out for ice cream, we will have to buy a cone and fill it with our own soy ice cream.

While we were at the farm, we saw many people going into a building and sitting down. We walked in and realized they were milking the cows! It was awsome that we could sit and watch the cows being milked.

At first, the kids were apprehensive about being so close all of the big cows in the room. They felt more comfortable after we had been there for a few minutes, but not comfortable enough to let go of us! In this picture, Landon is holding on to me tighter than he ever has! It is the only time in recent memory that we weren't chasing Landon!

Longs Park

We had a great family day today. After soccer practice, we took the boys to Longs Park in Lancaster.

Bryce had so much fun riding his scooter around the pond. He is getting much better riding it and will hopefully be ready for a scooter with two wheels soon.

The boys enjoyed sitting in the gazebo watching the ducks.

Landon loved looking at the pond from this bridge. There were a lot of fish and ducks to keep his attention.

The boys had fun going down the sliding board together.

Soccer Practice

Bryce was full of energy at the beginning of soccer practice today.

About 10 minutes into the soccer game, Bryce's interest in the game began to fade. Most of the team is huddled around the ball in the middle of this picture. Bryce is the little boy on the far left staring at the ceiling!

Towards the end of the game, Bryce really lost focus! In this picture, everyone on the team is chasing the ball, except Bryce, who is making funny faces at the parents! Soccer at four years old is interesting!

Our New Car

Prior to having children, we purchased a Honda Accord, thinking it would be a great family car. Since then, we have learned how naive we were to think that an Accord would be big enough to travel comfortably with two children! John and I have been debating when to buy a bigger car and we finally did it! This week, we purchased a Toyota Sienna minivan! We aren't thrilled about driving a minivan, but it meets our needs and it was a practical choice. I think the boys love having their own seat and they enjoy the better view of outside.

Outside Playtime

Emily came over to play with the boys this afternoon. They spent the afternoon outside and had a great time together!

The kids enjoyed eating a snack (cereal) outside at the playset.

After they finished playing in the sandbox, they decided they wanted to play with sidewalk paint. They made beautiful creations in the driveway!

Emily took Landon for a ride in his car.

Bryce had fun with his water shooter until it was taken away from him for not following the rules! He wasn't allowed to squirt people, just things. He couldn't resist the temptation to squirt his brother, so Mommy had to take it away from him! (Yes, we encourage Bryce to call it a "water shooter" rather than "gun!").

Together In The Cart

Bryce and Landon sat together in the special cart at the grocery store today. In this picture, Bryce is trying to hug and kiss Landon. Landon did not want to be touched and screamed, "No! Stop!"

Dentist Appointment

Bryce had a dentist appointment Monday evening. During his previous dentist appointment, Bryce refused to have his teeth cleaned. He was very cooperative this time and allowed Dr. Paul to clean and examine his teeth.

Coloring With Markers

Landon had a fun time coloring with markers this weekend. He threw his paper on the floor and decided it was much more fun to color the highchair and himself! Looking at Landon's creation reminds me of what Bryce says about markers. "Don't worry Mommy. It's washable. We weren't playing with permanent markers!"

Playing In The Basement

Molly and Wally came over this evening and the kids were very excited to show her how they play in the basement.

Street Hockey

Bryce played street hockey with the neighbors this afternoon. It was such a big deal for him to play with them! He loved every second of it!!!

Bryce had a lot of fun hitting the ball with the hockey stick!

As usual, Landon had to join his big brother in the action!

Enjoying Outside Playtime

Landon loved being outside, pushing his trucks in the grass and getting dirty!

Bryce loved that his "big" friend Andrew came over to play. They spent a lot of time playing with the Matchbox cars. The boys LOVE Andrew and wish he would come over to play everyday. Landon enjoyed being pushed in the car by Andrew!

Singing In The Rain

Bryce and Landon were playing outside this evening with Andrew when it began raining. It started as a light drizzle which was perfect for the kids' umbrellas. In this picture, Landon is trying to share with Andrew.

Bryce LOVED walking around outside in the rain while holding his CARS umbrella.

Landon does everything Bryce does and he always enjoys the activity tremendously! In other words, Bryce had an umbrella, so Landon needed an umbrella. I continue to be amazed at what a second child picks up from an older sibling!

Eating With A Fork

We are working with Landon to help him eat his food with a fork. We are trying hard to help him become an independent eater!

Preschool Field Trip

Bryce loves going on field trips with his preschool class. Today he went to a gymnastics center. He had so much fun being there with all of his friends!

Moonsand

Bryce enjoyed playing with moonsand this afternoon. It is an activity that we don't do very often because it is extremely messy for inside the house. We will enjoy playing with it oustide this summer!

Special Time With Dad

Bryce and Landon enjoyed special time with Dad outside this evening!

Rock Stars

I took Landon to get a haircut this morning and he found a microphone in the toy box while he was waiting for his turn. He then proceeded to sing and dance for everyone in the hair salon. I decided it was time to buy him his own microphone! I couldn't buy one for one child and not the other, so I bought two. Bryce and Landon have put on many shows throughout the day today and it has been hilarious!

A Lollipop Morning

Today was a "lollipop morning" for Landon. I have discovered that when I am out with Landon and he begins to get fussy, I can give him a lollipop and that buys me atleast 15 more minutes. I feel like a bad mom when I shove a lollipop in his mouth, however, a mom has to do what a mom has to do to get the job done!!! I wish I discovered this when Bryce was younger!

Play Ball

Bryce enjoyed playing baseball outside yesterday.

Tumbling With Alex

We went to Tumble Town this morning with Bryce's friend Alex. The boys had a great time running, jumping and tumbling! We wore Landon out...he's been napping all afternoon!

Riding A Skateboard

Bryce LOVED riding Aaron's skateboard today! We think Bryce will love spending time outside this summer riding his bike, scooter and skateboard!

Emily's First Communion

Emily made her first communion at Church today. She looked beautiful and did a wonderful job!
