Roller Skating

My mom has been cleaning out her attic and she found my roller skates from 1983! Still in the original box and packaging! Bryce was so excited when he saw them and asked if he could use them to skate. Here we are getting laced up.

Bryce had fun going down our sidewalk with the skates on. Landon wasn't too far behind!

Oops! Bryce fell down! We were preapared for falls with a helmet, knee pads and elbow pads.

I had a tight grip on Bryce so he wouldn't get hurt!

Sprinkler Fun

Both Bryce and Landon were restless this afternoon and kept getting into trouble. So, I took them outside, turned the sprinkler on and let them burn off their extra energy.

Landon was curious about the sprinkler then lost interest pretty quickly.

Bryce ran through the sprinkler water much longer than Landon did. He had a blast getting wet!

Swim Day

The daycare center Bryce attends has "swim day" every Thursday. Bryce only attends on Wednesdays and Friday mornings so he always misses this activity. About half way through the summer, he realized "swim days" are on a day he isn't there and ever since then he has been asking to participate. So I took Bryce and Landon to Stillmeadow today and stayed with them so they could particpate in "swim day."

Landon fit right into the group without any trouble! He is our social butterfly! Our children are so different.....Bryce stood by my side and Landon went off on his own.

The boys really enjoyed going down the sliding board into the swimming pool. Landon became buddies with the two girls who were keeping the slide wet and insisted they hold his hand on the way down.

Baseball With The Boys

John played baseball with the boys this evening. Bryce had such a good time playing yesterday at Becky's house so he wanted to play again this evening. As you can see in this photo, Landan was more interested in playing with the lawn mower.

Bryce hit the ball! Yeah!

Landon did exactly what Bryce did...he went to home base and picked up the bat. However, he lost interest before John could throw the ball to him!

Noah and Sam

Bryce and I went to cousin Becky's house yesterday evening to visit (Landon stayed home with John). Bryce loved playing with Sam and Noah and really enjoyed playing baseball in their back yard.

While Becky and I visited each other, the boys decided to play dress up. Bryce dressed as "Woody" from Toy Story, Noah wore a "Bible Man" costume and Sam was "Pablo" from the Backyardigans.

Water Battle

Bryce and Landon played with their water squirters this evening in the driveway with Christian. They had so much fun!

Bryce looked like he was ready for combat! He was sporting his bike helmet and his super soaker squirter which includes a back pack water storage unit.

Here is the back view of Bryce's super soaker. When the back pack is full of water, I worry it might topple Bryce over!

Happy Birthday Emily and Aaron

Today we celebrated Emily and Aaron's birthdays with a joint party at their house. The boys enjoyed an entire afternoon of non-stop playing!

Bryce loved eating the cake and ice cream!

John, Landon and Wally ate their lunch on the front porch.

Opening presents was a highlight of the party!

Landon LOVED playing with all of Emily and Aaron's toys!

Lincoln Speedway

John took Bryce to Lincoln Speedway in Abbottstown this evening to see his first sprint car race. Bryce was so excited about being old enough to go to a race with his daddy.

Bryce loved wearing his "cool" ear protection during the race.

This face says it all! Bryce was thrilled to watch cars racing. He is all boy and plays with cars, trucks and trains on a daily basis. He often mimics races using all of his NASCAR vehicles so to actually see a live race was an amazing experience for him!

B-17 Flying Fortress

We went to the Capital City Airport in New Cumberland today to see a restored B-17 Flying Fortress plane. It was a plane that flew during World War II.

John loves looking at old military planes so he was very excited to share his passion with the boys. Bryce enjoyed looking at the plane but Landon is too young to understand any of it!

Bryce asked John a lot of questions about all of the different parts of the plane. John was happy to explain the answers to Bryce.

We were able to walk inside the plane, which was really exciting for the boys. As an adult, it was a strange feeling to walk through it, knowing it's history. I kept thinking, if this plane could talk, it would have amazing stories to share.

Playing With Emily and Aaron

We went to Aunt Lisa's house today to play with Emily and Aaron. The boys had a blast! Bryce and Aaron played with the Dukes of Hazard General Lee remote control car in the driveway. What fun!

Emily, of course, played with Landon the entire time. She gave Landon a few baby dolls to play with and he enjoyed it way TOO much!

The kids played in the sandbox for at least an hour. Well, not Landon. He was busy, busy, busy! Emily got a lot of exercise today chasing after him!

Hershey Park

We went to Hershey Park for a few hours last night after John got home from work. In this picture, Bryce is riding the balloons, a ride he has never been on before.

We rode the train around Hershey yesterday for the first time this season. Bryce and Landon loved it so much we had to go on it twice.

Fun At The Park

We met Johnyne, Conner and Alex at the park yesterday morning for a play date. The boys had so much fun together!

Bryce and Alex are best buddies!

When we went over to the pond, we found several dragonflies. The boys loved looking at them and watching them fly around.

I love this picture Johnyne took of Landon!

Say Cheese!

It has been a few months since the boys have had a professional photo taken, so last week I took them to have it done. Bryce did a great job and Landon cooperated for about three minutes. Thankfully, the photographer moved quickly and got a few great shots!

Afternoon Rest Time

John rested on the couch this afternoon for a 10-minute power nap. I am not sure if he even got 10 minutes in...about 2 minutes into rest time, Bryce decided he needed snuggle time with Daddy. They looked so precious together so I needed to capture the moment on camera!

Sunday Morning Tradition

Our Sunday morning tradition is eating pancakes for breakfast. John has adopted this task and makes delicious pancakes! This morning, he let Landon help by stirring the batter.

Tumbling Field Trip

Bryce went on a field trip today with his class from Stillmeadow. They went to an indoor play facility located inside our local mall.

Bryce had fun going down the slide.

Loving the basketball!

Bryce had a terrific morning filled with jumping and playing with all of his friends!

York Revolution Baseball

We went to a York Revolution baseball game this evening with our friends, The Arnolds and Smeltzers. We all had a great time together!

Bryce really enjoyed being at the game with his friends!

The kids began to get restless, so we all went to the play area for a while. After they were done playing, they settled down and were able to sit for the remainder of the game.

After the game was over, the kids were able to run around the bases on the field. Bryce is the little boy in the red shirt running. He loved it! Landon and I followed Bryce around the field. He ran to one base, then I carried him running around the rest of them!

Utz Factory Tour

We went to Utz Potato Chip Factory in Hanover, Pennsylvania today for a tour. My friend Kim was taking her children there so we decided to join her! Kim takes her children on a factory tour every year....what a cool idea! The tour was extra special because Bryce and Landon were able to share it with Matt, Jess and Kim. In this picture, Bryce is admiring all of the products produced by Utz Foods.

The boys loved watching the process of turning a potato into a chip. When we first arrived, there was a trailor filled with potatoes. We were able to follow each step in the production process from the potato in the truck to the filled bag of chips being loaded into boxes then going to a warehouse. Bryce could hardly contain himself - that's how excited he was!

After the tour, we sat down and ate our complimentary bag of Utz potato chips. (They were yummy!) I think I may borrow Kim's idea and take the kids on a different factory tour every year. York and the surrounding area is over flowing with factories so we won't have any problems find a new place to visit each year.
