Hot Wheels

Bryce received this Hot Wheels track a few years ago for Christmas. We FINALLY put it together last night. The boys were so excited about this track and they could barley contain themselves! It was hours of entertainment! It is now permanently set up in the basement for hot wheel fun!

Happy Birthday Alex

Bryce went to his friend Alex's birthday party yesterday. Bryce and Alex haven't seen eachother for a few months so they were very excited to play together!
Alex's party was at a bowling alley. Bryce was so excited to go and he had a lot of fun bowling. He bowled two spares - with the assistance of rails to prevent the ball from going in the gutter.

Big Brother

Bryce played "Big Brother" tonight. As Bryce described it, playing Big Brother means helping to take care of your little brother. So, this evening, Bryce helped wash Landon during his bath, put Landon's pajamas on him, combed Landon's hair, read him books and helped me put him to bed. I love this game! I wish Bryce would play it every night. One very important rule I forgot to mention is there is no fighting when you play Big Brother!

Happy Birthday Wally!

We celebrated Wally's 70th birthday this weekend with a party at Lisa's house. All of the kids were excited to sing happy birthday and help Wally blow out the candles.

Our Rocker Boy

This is a picture of Bryce, our rocker boy, belting out a song while playing his electric guitar!

Another Sleepover

Bryce had another sleepover - this time Emily and Aaron stayed over at our house. Landon enjoyed 24 hours of constant attention from Emily and loved every second of it! Bryce and Aaron were great buddies and enjoyed a lot of "boy" activities, including wresting and playing with trucks.
John made pancakes for everyone on Saturday morning. They were yummy!

Happy Birthday Grant

Bryce went to his friend Grant's frog theme birthday party today. Bryce had fun making a craft project.
Grant's mom Jennifer read the boys a book about frogs.
The frog pinata was the highlight of the party! Bryce had fun collecting candy after it broke!

A Successful Sleepover!

Bryce had a successful sleepover at Aunt Lisa and Uncle Greg's house! Yeah! Bryce slept in Aaron's room on a mattress set up on the floor. He slept all night long! After the sleepover, Emily and Aaron came over to play. In this picture, Aaron and Bryce are being rock stars with their guitars and mohawks! The hair style was created by Emily, and Bryce loved it!
Bryce and Aaron had fun dressing up in the Nascar costumes. Such buddies!

New Year's At Emily and Arron's

We went to Lisa and Greg's house this evening to hang out and celebrate Greg's birthday. The kids had a blast playing together! Bryce and Aaron were buddies all evening. When it was time to go home, Bryce said he wanted to have a sleep over at Aunt Lisa's house and be with Aaron all night long. So, for only the second time in his life, he is spending the night away from Mom and Dad. I am missing him sooooo much!!! We are hoping the night will go well without a middle of the night phone call to pick Bryce up!

Yummy!

Yummy!!! Look at these boys devouring a piece of chocolate cake! We went to Chili's yesterday for lunch and everyone shared a piece of chocolate cake. Bryce definately enjoyed it the most, and the evidence was all over his face!

Written and Illustrated By Bryce

Bryce loves to "write and illustrate" books. He draws a picture on paper and tells me the words to write. Today, he wrote a book about instruments and animals. After we finished writing and drawing, he stapled the pages together. Landon never wants to be left out of the action, so he wanted to write a book too! His version of a book is a page of scribbles with a few dabs of glue.

A Rare Sight In December

This is an exceptionally rare sight for December - playing outside in a sweatshirt! Bryce took advantage of the warm weather yesterday and went outside to play while John cleaned our cars. He was in his glory!

Whitaker Center

We went to the Whitaker Center in Harrisburg on Saturday. Our season passes expire next month, so we wanted to get another visit in. The boys loved the special train exhibit on display this month. They enjoyed playing with the Thomas trains much more than watching the electric trains!
I am not sure who had more fun with the water station - John or the b0ys!
Our theatrical son, Landon, enjoyed singing and dancing on stage.
As always, Bryce was fascinated by the bubble machine.

Bedtime Stories

Reading books is a part of our nightly bedtime routine. Bryce and Landon were so excited last night to read new books they received from Santa. Bryce received a book called "Mater's Ghostlight."
Landon received a collection of Sesame Street books. He prefers to call the show "Elmo Streeet" rather than "Sesame Street." It's not hard to guess which character is his favorite!

Merry Christmas!

It was an early and busy morning at our house! This was, by far, the funnest Christmas morning for our family. Bryce was more excited than he has ever been during Christmas morning. He immediately spotted a box that contained his electric guitar and said, "This has to be it. I just know there's an electric guitar in here!" Bryce had already opened all of his presents by the time Landon opened his first one. Landon wasn't interested in unwrapping - he just wanted to steal Bryce's toys that were already opened!
This keyboard has been one of Landon's favorite Christmas presents.
Bryce has enjoyed playing with an easel Landon received for Christmas from Santa. When Landon took his afternoon nap, Bryce had fun painting.

Food For Santa And His Reindeer

We wanted to make sure Santa and his reindeer had a snack when they visited our house. Emily and Aaron helped Bryce and Landon disperse food for Santa's reindeer on the front lawn. Bryce and Landon left three cookies and milk for Santa.
Well, it started out as three cookies! Landon snuck one when he thought no one was looking!
He was kind enough to leave a bite for Santa!

Christmas Eve

We celebrated Christmas Eve with Molly and Wally and the Eckards. We went to church together then came back to our house for a casual dinner. Bryce in front of the Christmas tree.
Landon in front of the Christmas tree.
The kids loved playing together on Christmas Eve. Aaron wanted to play a game on Wii so he and Uncle John raced a car on Mario Cart Wii.
Wally was exhausted after a long day! He snuck away and took a nap on the couch!

Christmas Celebration

We celebrated Christmas with my family today. All of the cousins had a great time playing together, and they especially enjoyed opening presents! Helping Landon open presents was a group effort, with all of the kids helping! The boys are great buddies!
In this picture, we are sharing oplatek. Breaking oplatek is a beautiful Polish tradition where you share well wishes with everyone present. Our family has participated in this tradition for generations, and I hope my children will share it with their families.

Oh, Dear! What Did You Do!!!

It was a quiet evening at the Danes house. The boys were painting, John went to pick up a pizza and I was doing laundry. While I was downstairs hanging wet clothes, Bryce called down to me and said, "Mom! Look what I'm doing. This is soooo cool!" And this is what I came up to find! That was the end of our quiet, peaceful evening! I removed Bryce from the situation and Landon snuck in to do exactly what his big brother did!
They were already a mess and needed a bath, so I let them have fun for a few minutes. Life would be so boring (and less messy) without children!
Bryce's green face blended in nicely with the Christmas tree!
