We met Papaw David's son Craig and his wife Angie tonight for dinner in Lancaster. The boys LOVE Craig and sometimes call him Papaw David accidently!
Here is a group shot in front of the pond.
I took the kids to my sister Lynne's house today. We enjoyed swimming in her pool for the first time.
Landon has a great life! He enjoyed an afternoon of sitting in the raft floating around the pool.
Bryce pretended to "go fishing" in the pool, using the noodles as his fishing rod.
Hunter and Landon were buddies!
Bryce and Landon had their spring concert tonight. It was Landon's first time singing on a stage in front of an audience and he did great! We had no idea what to expect, especially considering Bryce left the stage crying during his first few events as a two year-old in preschool. Landon sang with his friends, danced and laughed on stage.
Bryce had a great time too. He had been practicing singing his songs all week and he couldn't wait for the program tonight.
This is what a typical weekday morning looks like in our house. Landon gets up first in a happy and playful mood. Bryce.....not so happy! He wishes he could still be in his bed sleeping!
Bryce doesn't want to be touched in the morning and he certainly doesn't want to be engaged in conversation. Landon is aware of this and seizes the moment as a perfect time to agitate Bryce.
In September, I began planning an event for work called the Baby and Kids Expo (www.mhyork.org/event_expo_09.asp). We typically have a band perform at the event so the search for a children's band was on. Bryce and Landon helped me evauluate the bands by watching the performances then giving me feedback. We booked the band SteveSongs (http://www.stevesongs.com/) - a group featured on PBS television during the morning cartoons. Bryce and Landon have been watching the group's DVD and listening to his CD for many months now. Our whole family has fallen in love with him and his music!
The boys were so excited to meet Steve, the lead singer of SteveSongs. Steve even annoucned Bryce's name during the performance and sang Bryce's favorite song. What a big moment for Bryce!
Bryce's class hosted a Mother's Day picnic today. The kids sang a few songs and then each mother and her child introduced themselves and shared an activity they like to do together. Bryce said he likes to play board games and put puzzles together with me.
All of the kids had a picnic lunch with their mom. After the picnic, Bryce and Grant spent the afternoon at their friend Ben's house. That was the perfect ending to a great day for Bryce!
John's mother and step-father were in Pennsylvania this past weekend visiting Ann's father and they stopped by for a visit on Sunday. The boys had a great time playing with their Memaw and Papaw David!
Since we were unable to celebrate Memaw and Papaw's birthdays in March and April, we decided to have a mini birthday party for them while they were visiting. Bryce and Landon enjoyed singing Happy Birthday and then blew out the candles for them. The boys love any reason for a celebration!
Meemaw and Papaw were going to watch Bryce play tball on Sunday but the game was rained out. Bryce and Landon entertained their grandparents inside instead. Bryce enjoyed snuggling with his Papaw David as they read one of his favorite books.
Landon hasen't been feeling well this week. On Monday evening he developed a fever and continued to have trouble breathing. Our day on Tuesday started at the pediatrician's office. In this picture, the boys are having fun playing with the trucks in the waiting room before Landon was called in to see the doctor.
Landon got a prescription for a new medication for his nebulizer. While we were waiting for the prescription to be filled, the boys had a special treat - lunch at the Target snack bar. They enjoyed sitting at the counter while watching the cars in the parking lot.
John and Landon have been having terrible problems breathing during the past few days because of the high pollen count. We have been giving Landon breathing treatments for the past three days straight. Both John and I have allergies and John also has asthma. It looks like Landon has inhereted both. We are taking Landon to the doctor tomorrow to find out how we can treat his breathing problems on a long-term basis.
