It was a beautiful day today so Landon and I spent the morning at the park together. Landon rode his bike, played at the playground, chased butterflies and talked to the ducks! Later in the evening we went back to the park to watch Bryce's t-ball game. It was a perfect day for Landon!

Welcome to Star Wars

Bryce has been reading a Star Wars book and has been asking John a lot of questions about the movie. John is excited because he was a huge Star Wars fan as a child. We finally allowed Bryce to watch one of the movies this weekend, and now he is an official Star Wars fan as well. This week, Bryce and Landon have been having a lot of fun have light saber battles. As you can tell by the expression on his face, Bryce takes his role very seriously!

A Boy and His Throne

Landon has a good life! Yesterday morning he told me he had to go to the potty. So he got his little pink potty and sat it on the living room floor and played Wii! Who needs a book when you can play Wii!

My Aunt Ann and Uncle Joe are visiting from Florida this week, and we went to my parents' house this evening to spend time with them. Bryce wasn't too interested in Uncle Joe until he found out that Uncle Joe once drove a military tank. Uncle Joe promised Bryce he would send pictures!

Aircraft Carrier

Bryce goes through phases with playing with toys. He will immerse himself with something and that is all he thinks about. Lately, he has been really exciated about playing "army" and he wants to learn as much as he can about the military. He and John decided that they were going to build an aircraft carrier that is photographed in one of the military books that Bryce has been reading. They did a great job recreating the carrier, and Bryce already has ideas about what to build next!

Visit From MeeMaw and Papaw

John's parents came to visit us this weekend. Their first stop was to watch Bryce's tball game. Landon was cold so he snuggled up to Meemaw to keep warm.

After we ate dinner, we celebrated Ann's birthday, which is today. We got a cake and the boys enjoyed singing Happy Birthday and helped Meemaw blow out her candles.

Meemaw and Papaw were suckered into reading bedtime books tonight. Landon brought a few books over to Papaw and climbed up on his lap to listen to Papaw read.

Bryce went up to his bedroom for Meemaw to read to him. He loves when someone special will read to him!

Kindergarten Writers Tea

Bryce's Kindergarten class hosted a Writers Tea to show the parents how well students' writing has progressed throughout the year. The event began with the class singing three of their favorite songs for the parents. Next, we watch a slideshow containing various photos of the students from throughout the year. At the end of the event, the parents and children were invited to have cookies and tea and read a sampling of their child's kid writing work.
Bryce certainly enjoyed eating cookies after the event!

While Bryce Plays Tball......

While Bryce plays tball, you likely won't find Landon on the sidelines cheering on his brother. No, Landon would rather run around the entire park and climb on all of the equipment!
Who would want to sit and watch boys practice playing tball when you could be climbing on ropes???

Tball Season Has Begun!

The Spring t-ball season has begun! Bryce is very excited about playing, especially since his dad is one of the coaches! He has improved tremendously since last year and we are hoping that he will continue to develop his skills.

Happy Easter

Happy Easter! The Easter bunny visited our house and left a few treats for Bryce and Landon.
The boys were so excited to check out their gifts.
In the morning, they search outside for a few eggs that the bunny left behind.
Later in the afternoon, we went to my parents house for lunch. We had to get a nice shot of the boys before they got dirty!!!
A highlight of Easter Sunday was Bryce loosing his second tooth. His tooth has been wiggling for a few weeks and it was almost ready to come out. Bryce let his cousin Emily pull it out for him. What an exciting day! A visit from the Easter Bunny in the morning and the Tooth Fairy in the evening!

Easter Egg Decorating

We went t my parent's house todya to decorate Easter eggs. Bryce enjoyed it more this year than he has in past years.
Landon tried to decorate a few eggs. He burned his hand on one egg and he handled the others too aggressively and broke them!
After decorating was over, the kids ran outside to play football.

Easter Egg Hunt

Our neighborhood hosted an Easter Egg Hunt yesterday. The kids had fun running around searching for eggs. Bryce was very independent this year during the Egg Hunt. He ran by himself to search for eggs.
Bryce enjoyed a snack after the Egg Hunt.
Landon had a great time playing on the equipment with his neighbors.

Bryce's school hosted a skating party for the kindergartners and first graders yesterday. Bryce had a great time skating, although he felt like very sore by the end of the evening from falling so many times! In this picture, Bryce was visiting with his friends Katie and Mia (and Mia's mommy).
Landon had a blast skating! He had the little kids skates on so it was much easier for him! He outlasted Bryce!

Painting Thomas

Landon enjoyed painting Thomas the Tank engine this morning. He loves painting and would do it everyday if I would let him! Painting is fun for Landon, but the clean up is NOT fun for mom!

Swim Lessons

We enrolled Bryce and Landon into the swim program at our local high school. Bryce started lessons yesterday and Landon begins on Friday. Bryce was really nervous to start taking lessons again and even cried in the car on our way there. Once his lesson was over, he told us he had a great time and he can't wait for his next lesson! The big test for us will be Friday when Landon will begin his first swim lesson ever! We are hoping for a tear free event!

Riding A John Deere

My kids love to go to Lowe's simply so they can sit on a tractor! Landon and I made a quick trip into Lowe's yesterday and I forgot to avoid the tractor area. As soon as Landon spotted them, he immediately wanted to test one out!

Play Date With the Arnolds

Bryce didn't have school today so we invited the Arnolds over to play. It was a beautiful spring day and the kids spent almost the entire time outside playing! They did take a brief break to come inside to make their own pizzas and eat lunch, then they were back outside! Grant and Katherine loved making their own lunch at our house!
