Baseball Opening Day

Today was opening day for Bryce's baseball season. 

Bryce plays baseball through our local township recreation department.  Every year they host an opening day event and all of the teams gather on the field after their team is announced.  It's always a fun day!

Boy Scout Advancement

Bryce has really enjoyed being in the boy scouts this past year.  He has learned a lot and made several new friends.  John and I have also developed some great friendships through Scouting!  This evening, he advanced from Wolf to Tiger Cub.

Recycled Robot

This month in school, Bryce has been learning about recycling.  He was given an assignment to create something out of recycled items.  He immediately knew he wanted to make a robot.  He used plastic cups, plastic water bottles, a cracker box, a tin can, wine corks, matches, and duct tape to create his masterpiece.

Easter in Ohio

We traveled to Ohio to spend Easter with John's mom.  We kicked off the weekend with a trip to the movie theater to see the movie "Hop."

Yeah!  The Easter Bunny remembered we were in Ohio.  Bryce was worried that he might forget!

Easter Egg Decorating

We went to my parents' house this afternoon to decorate our family's traditional "Ukranian" style Easter eggs.  This is the first year that Bryce was really excited about decorating.  He patiently decorated a few eggs using wax and several colors of dye.

Wally helped Bryce select colors for his eggs.  Unfortunately, there are no pictures of Landon decorating eggs.  He didn't want to be photographed!

Dirt Bike Riding

Bryce has been eagerly waiting for the opportunity to ride a dirt bike just like his cousins.  Today was the big day, and he loved every second of it!

Uncle Jeff did a great job teaching Bryce how to ride.

Baseball Season Has Begun

Baseball season has begun!  This year, Bryce is on the "Atlanta Braves" team, and he has the same coach he had two years ago, Coach Shane.  Shane is amazing with the boys and will teach Bryce a lot.

Yes, Landon gets a bit restless during baseball practice.  I was hoping that we wouldn't have to chase him around the park again this year during baseball games and practices, but I was wrong!  In this picture, Landon found a stick and is using his "superhero" pose.

Flag Football

Bryce decided to play flag football this spring, and he started practice this week.  Look at how clean he is at the start of practice!

He was a muddy mess by the end of practice!  He had to strip down to his underwear for the car ride home.

We decided to bring Grayson along to Bryce's practice.  That was a huge mistake.  He was also a muddy mess by the time we had to leave!

Play Date At The Seeners

We went out to dinner with our friends Tom and Michelle, while Bryce and Landon played at their house with their sons Ben, Jonathan, and Colin.  Victoria, the Seener's college-age daughter, watched all five boys so the parents could enjoy a rare night out together.  Everyone had a great time!

Birthday Party

Landon went to a friend's birthday party today at a gymnastics center.  He had a blast jumping and tumbling!  In this picture, he is sitting with his friends Aiden and Ethan.

It was fun watching Najya open her birthday presents!

Team Sports for Landon!

After years of watching Bryce on the sidelines, Landon has finally joined the world of team sports!  Tonight was his first day of soccer practice, and he loved it!

Visit From Uncle Ed and Aunt Barbara

My Uncle Ed and Aunt Barbara (my Dad's brother and his wife) traveled to York from Connecticut for a visit. It was nice to see them!

Hunter and Wyatt came over to visit too. Of course, the cousins had a great time playing together as usual!

It's Getting Warmer!!!

We have really been enjoying the warmer weather lately! This evening, we took the kids and Grayson for a walk around the block, and we also stopped at the playground in our neighborhood. We had a great time! Bryce and Landon were anxious to show us new playground tricks they have learned.

Soccer Clinic

Landon is finally old enough to participate in sports! He has been anxiously waiting for so long to join his brother in sports. This month he is attending a soccer clinic and he will join his first sports team next month. Our usually outgoing Landon was very reserved during the clinic. Maybe he will feel more comfortable next week!

First Grade Skating Party

Bryce's school hosted a skating party for the kindergartners and first graders. Bryce did a much better job skating this year than last year. He had so much fun that he wants to learn to roller blade this summer.

Game Night

Bryce's school hosted a game night tonight for parents and kids to play board games together. We had a great time playing Chuttes and Ladders!

Bye Bye Trampoline

Our trampoline became a casualty of a terrible wind storm today. It literally flew in the air and over the fence into our neighbor's yard. The trampoline knocked over our neighbor's satellite dish and damaged his spouting. We felt horrible that it damaged their house and not ours!

Playdate

Bryce's friend Sam came over today for a playdate. The boys had a great time playing together!

Today was the Friendship Day party in Bryce's class. It was a special day for Bryce because both John and I volunteered at the party! I recruited the help of my dad (Wally) with one of the Friendship Day games. He built a heart bean bag toss, and the kids had a great time playing with it.

Peaceful Landon

Landon is such a busy boy and he is always on the go. It is unusual to see him stop and rest. He took a long nap today (in his pajamas), and he looked so peaceful!

Snow Tubing Party

Bryce's friend Kelan had a birthday party at a local hotel and snow boarding venue. Bryce had a blast! Here is a view of the slopes from the party hotel room. Here is Bryce after he went down the hill. He made several trips down the slope and he was exhausted by the time we left.

Bryce took a break from snow tubing to play in a snow pile. It was a great day!

More Snowy Days

Bryce and Landon have enjoyed spending a lot of time playing outside in the snow this winter. Look at Landon's happy face! Bryce acquired new skills this year in snowball throwing. Poor Landon has been the recipient of many snowballs in the face. I have a feeling Landon will get his revenge in a few years.

If Bryce and Landon are playing in the snow Grayson is sure to be there too!

Snow Day!

No school today due to snow so we bundled up and headed over to Aunt Lisa's to play. Lisa put food dye and water in spray bottles and the kids "painted" the snow. They loved it! Landon "hunted" for squirrels with Arron's toy gun. He said he wanted to be a hunter just like Uncle Greg.

Pinewood Derby Races

Pinewood Derby race day has arrived! Bryce had a front row seat to watch all of the racing cars.

John was an official Pinewood Derby helper this morning.

Bryce's car is ready to start racing. It didn't win, but we are already getting ready to improve for next year's race. Wally is determined to help Bryce improve his race time.
