Summer Library Program

Today we went to Bryce's school to participate in the Summer Library program.  Bryce and Landon made paper butterflies, listened to the principal read a book, and watched a presentation about bugs.  They saw spiders, scorpions, roaches, and lots of other creepy crawleys!

Cooling Off In The Pool

We were supposed to go on a bike ride with Bryce's Boy Scout troop this evening, but it was cancelled because of the hot temperatures.  Instead, we went to a fellow Scout's house to swim.

Bryce, Peter, and Colin had a great time swimming together!

Landon was not going to be left out of all of the fun!  He put on his swim vest and kept up with the big boys!

The boys ended the evening with a freeze pop by the pool!

Dinner At The Imschweiler's

We went to our friends Tracy and Derek's house tonight for dinner.  Bryce and Landon had an awesome time playing with their sons Colin and Evan!  In this picture, they are pretending to be a choo-choo train traveling around the yard.

The train quickly de-railed and landed on the grass!  The boys were too cute together!!

An Evening With The Martins

Mell and David invited us over to their house for dinner this evening.  We enjoyed a great dinner, and then we went to Rita's for dessert.  As always, the kids had a blast playing together!  They especially enjoyed ridnig their bikes to Rita's.  Sweet little Meghan had no trouble at all keeping up with the boys!

Lake Tobias

We took the kids to Lake Tobias Wildlife Park today.  What an awesome family fun day!

The highlight of Lake Tobias is definitely the safari ride through the property.  We saw tons of  unique animals during our adventure on the bus.

Some of the animals are very friendly are are used to being fed by visitors.  Look at how close they get to the bus!  This is a picture of Landon feeding an animal crackers.

Here is Bryce feeding a deer.

After we left Lake Tobias, we took the kids to Wegman's for dinner.  This is now their new favorite place to eat!  I wish we had a Wegman's closer to us!

Face Painting Fun

Landon is such a ham!  He got our face painting book out this morning and asked me to paint something on him.  He chose a scary face.  After I was done painting, he asked me to take pictures of him while he made funny expressions.

This is Landon's tough guy face!

And here's the happy face!  And yes, he put a temporary tattoo on his neck!  What a sight!

Bryce chose a super hero design.  I'm so glad that my kids don't care that I stink at face painting!!

Happy Fourth of July

Look at these exhausted boys!  The boys spent the day playing with their cousins and were wiped out by the end of the evening.  We gave them bathes, put on their pajamas, and loaded them in the car to watch fireworks.  It was a struggle for them to stay awake to watch them!

Bowling

I signed the kids up for the "Kids Bowl Free" program and we have been enjoying weekly trips to the bowling alley.  Today we went with Hunter, Wyatt and my parents.

Molly was happy to watch the kids bowl!

Hunter and Bryce.

After bowling, we took the kids out for pizza.  What a great afternoon!

York Revolution Baseball Game

Tonight we enjoyed a family night at a York Revolution minor league baseball game.  We didn't go to a game last summer so Landon was much younger when we last went to a game.  What a difference a few years makes!  He loved it and couldn't wait to see Downtown, the team's mascot.

The boys' outgrew their old York Revolution baseball hats so we bought new hats for them tonight.  They were excited to wear them!

Bryce loved watching the game!

The boys stayed patient for about six innings, them they became restless.  We walked over to the play area so they could burn some energy.

Little Landon....our monkey!

Climbing the ropes is always fun!

Camp Tuckahoe

Bryce went on his first Boy Scout camping trip to Camp Tuckahoe this weekend.  He and John slept in a tent, and survived the first night, which consisted of torrential downpours.  (By the way, Bryce is abnormally worried about weather disasters and asks us daily if there is a severe weather warning.)  The weekend was packed with fun activities.  John and Bryce both had an awesome time and they can't wait to go back again next summer.

Bryce fishing.

Bryce really liked the boat ride with his friend Christopher.

Bow and arrow shooting was the highlight of the whole weekend!

Bryce's next favorite activity was shooting BB guns.

Mt. Morris Dirt Bike Race

John, Bryce, Hunter and Uncle Jeff traveled to West Virginia this weekend to attend the Mt. Morris dirt bike race.  It was Bryce's first time at a race.

John and Bryce watching the race.

Just Me and Landon

John and Bryce went out of town this weekend to attend a dirt bike race.  I promised Landon that we would do something special together while they were away.  I took him to a pottery shop and he painted a truck and coffee mug.

Fun In The Tub

The kids were super grumpy this evening, and they could have gone to bed by 6 p.m.!  They needed an activity to keep them busy until bedtime so I put them in the tub with shaving cream and balloons.  They loved it and it kept them happy until it was time to go to sleep.

Field Day

Bryce's school hosted its annual Field Day event today.  Field Day is a special day filled with fun and games!  Today's weather was absolutely perfect for a day of outside fun.  In this picture, Bryce and his friend Jonathan enjoyed a cup of water during a break from the activities.  I was able to volunteer at the event by working at the refreshment stand so I was happy to get to see Bryce having a great time with all of his friends at school.

Bryce loves to snuggle with Grayson!

Fire Pit

John has been talking about buying a fire pit for the backyard for several years.  We decided to build one on our back patio using the pavers we had leftover from the project.  Tonight we built our first fire and roasted marshmallows.  We loved it and we are looking forward to many more nights around the fire this summer.

Cousin Sleepover

We invited Hunter and Wyatt over for a sleepover last night.  They had a great time playing, watching a movie, and camping out on the living room floor.

Hunter and Bryce.  By the way....Bryce dressed himself this morning and picked out his own clothes.  I think we need to work with him on how to match clothes!!

Bryce and Wyatt.

Hunter and Landon had a great time swinging together!

Spring Open House

Landon's school hosted its annual Spring Open House and Kindergarten graduation event tonight.  This year's event had a patriotic theme, and all of the kids dressed in red, white, or blue.  They all did a great job sining songs on the stage.

Last Soccer Practice

Landon's first soccer season ended this evening with a pizza party and fun game with the parents.  He really liked playing soccer and he is looking forward to playing again next year.

Grayson Update

We are becoming quite attached to our sweet little Grayson!  He has become a wonderfully loyal and obedient dog, and he is now a part of the family.  Bryce and John are especially fond of him, and Landon - well, Landon just torments the poor thing!  We are working with Landon to help him be gentle around Grayson.  And believe it or not, as someone who never wanted an animal, I am really enjoying being a dog owner!

Bye Bye Training Wheels

Landon said he was ready to try and ride his bike without training wheels.  He got on the small bike, and John held on to him.

About two minutes later Landon was riding the bike!  I continue to be amazed at how motivated he is to keep up with his big brother!
