The boys' new past time is playing with pillows and cushions, and they especially enjoy building beds with them. Yesterday, they piled all of the pillows together, got a few blankets and made their own special bed.
We went to Logan's Steakhouse for dinner last night. Bryce LOVES going there because of the peanuts. He could sit at the table all night long and crack peanuts! After he cracks open the peanut, he really enjoys throwing the shell down on the floor as hard as he can.
Landon can't open the peanuts yet but he certainly enjoys imitating Bryce by throwing them on the floor! We have to tell him he can only throw the shells down, not the peanut!
Bryce's fine motor skills are a little bit weak so we decided to send him to occupational therapy. The muscles in his upper shoulders aren't very strong and it is causing him to have difficulty with fine motor activities. He has been going to OT for a few months now are we are seeing great improvements. He really enjoys seeing his therapist, Ms. Karen, and she always has fun games for him to play!
Bryce and I had our six month dentist appointments this morning. Bryce did a wonderful job opening his mouth wide for his cleaning. They attempted to take x-rays of his teeth today, but Bryce began crying when they talked to him about it. He was scared to have it done so we will try again in six months!
Floride treatments are not Bryce's favorite thing! He did well keeping the floride tray in his mouth despite his dislike for it.
We went to Hershey Park yesterday for their "Christmas at Hershey" event. Molly came along with us and we had a great time enjoying the evening with her!
This is a picture of Bryce waiting in line to visit Santa Claus. Bryce didn't want to sit on his lap but he did agree to talk to him. Santa asked Bryce what he wants for Christams and Bryce told him he just wants an electric guitar.
Landon entertained himself while we were waiting for Santa by throwing my mom's hat to her. This game went on for a long time but it kept him content! Landon wasn't interested in sitting on Santa's lap either. He held on to me with a death grip!
We got a jump start with our holiday decorating by putting up the Christmas tree today. Cousin Emily came over to visit this evening so she helped us decorate.
Landon was very funny while we decorated the tree. He had trouble hanging the ornament hooks on the tree so he begin doing it his way - throw the ornaments in the tree! He had a great time!
Bryce and Landon are beginning to develop a love/hate relationship. As much as they love being around each other, they get equally annoyed with each other. One second they can't get enough of each other and begin loving and hugging the other, as shown in the picture above.
A few seconds later, one begins to agitate the other. I have to separate them sometimes to keep the peace. John and I are waiting for the day when there is a wrestling match in the back yard! We are hoping that won't happen until the teenage years! Life with boys!
I took Bryce to Stillmeadow this morning and we found a Spiderman theme birthday invitation in his mailbox from one of his friends. I showed it to Bryce and he said, "I don't like Spiderman, Mom. Do you know what I have to say about that?" I replied, "No, Bryce. What do you have to say about that?" "Oh, shit," he said. I laughed thinking he probably didn't say what I think he said and asked him to repeat himself. He repeated, "shit." I thought for a second and wondered if I said that recently. Sadly, a few situations came to mind and I reminded myself not to ever do it again! I then told him that is a potty word and he can't say it again. I told him he would get in trouble if a teacher heard him say it. He looked at me with a bewildered face and said, "shit?" I replied, "Yes, Bryce. Shit is a very bad word." And that was the end of the conversation and hopefully Bryce won't say it again!
